Postdoctoral Fellowship in Digital Humanities
The University of South Carolina's English Department offers a
three-year postdoctoral fellowship focusing on a digital edition of the
works of Edmund Spenser. The Fellow will work with faculty and students
in the English Department at the University of South Carolina, as well
as with faculty and project staff at the other participating
institutions. The Fellow will concentrate on the construction of the
Spenser Archive's digital infrastructure, and in the process will learn
about all aspects of a large-scale literary digital edition, including
the editorial methodology underlying both the digital edition and its
print component (to be published by Oxford University Press), the
standards governing the creation of digital transcriptions and
facsimiles, and the technology required to make the archive run.
Additionally, the Fellow will have opportunities to teach courses about
the Archive in the graduate program, and will help design curriculum to
support digital work in the Department.
Please send applications to David Lee Miller, Department of English,
University of South Carolina, Columbia SC 29208. Applications will
continue to be accepted until the position has been filled.
