The Cordell Collection pre-1901 online database may be searched by the
nineteenth century by the use of "c19" as a subject. Browse or download
the results of eminent lexicographers and their works.

There is a similar database for post-1900 titles, but it is not as
nearly as inclusive, so it might be only a little help for this question
about important works.
